Jamie Elder

Jamie D. is the Economic and Business Development Manager for the City of Highland Park, where they lead initiatives focused on attracting, retaining, and growing businesses across the North Shore. In this role, Jamie oversees the city’s business and economic development strategy, working closely with local entrepreneurs, established companies, and regional partners to foster a strong and sustainable economic environment. Jamie manages key programs including business incentive initiatives, the Ravinia Business District Special Service Area (SSA 17), and the city’s business startup and expansion processes. They also provide strategic support to the Business & Economic Development Advisory Group, helping shape policies and programs that support long-term growth. Serving as a primary liaison between businesses and regional development organizations, Jamie is deeply involved in building partnerships that unlock resources, funding opportunities, and strategic support. Their work ensures businesses have access to site selection guidance, marketing and promotion, business intelligence, and referrals to coaching, technical assistance, and grants — all with the goal of strengthening the local economy.
