Ja’Donn Harris is a multifaceted individual, embodying roles as a father, Author, Coach, Actor, Educator, and Entrepreneur. His diverse experiences have shaped his perspective and fueled his passion for making a positive impact on the lives of others. Coach Harris is renowned for his work with athletes across various age groups and from around the world, spanning from youth to professional sports. His unique journey as a single father has given him insights into the challenges posed by an outdated legal system, which often alienates fathers from meaningful involvement in their children's upbringing. Witnessing the repercussions of this legal struggle, including depression, suicide, substance abuse, and increased criminal activity, has fueled Mr. Harris's dedication to assisting fathers fighting to be
present in their children’s lives.
Born in Waukegan, Illinois, Mr. Harris grew up actively engaged in sports such as wrestling, soccer, volleyball, gymnastics, track, and football. His involvement extended beyond sports, as he was part of various organizations like Royal Rangers, Black Student Union, YDM (Church Youth Group), and one of the founders of SHADES, advocating for human rights. Harris's leadership and athletic achievements earned him opportunities to attend Northern Illinois and Lake Forest College, where he played football for the Lake Forest College Forester’s. Post-college, he worked with the Chicago Bears in various capacities,contributing to the drafting of NFL Hall of Famer Brian Urlacher. Subsequently, Harris joined the Cleveland Browns and later the Indianapolis Colts in their scouting departments.
Driven by a desire for more hands-on involvement in athlete development, Harris transitioned to coaching. From high school to college teams, including UWP, Trinity International University, and Luther College, he consistently achieved success, producing All-American and Hall of Fame receivers. In addition to his coaching career, Harris founded Hi-Intensity Sports Concepts, expanding his impact beyond traditional coaching roles. This endeavor allowed him to work globally, using sports as a conduit for organizational development and training. His success extended to emergency coaching roles with teams like the Amien Spartiate's and Milano Rhino’s, transforming them into playoff contenders with remarkable records.
Beyond sports, Harris ventured into the world of entertainment as an actor, manager, and casting director. His appearances in national commercials for brands like GoDaddy, ACE Hardware, and Visa showcase his versatility. Now, as an author, Harris seeks to share his unique life experiences with others, especially his daughter and future generations. He emphasizes the importance of being an active participant in life's adventure, advocating for the greater good. A portion of the book's sales are dedicated to advocacy programs supporting fathers and children in need, reflecting Harris's commitment to making a positive difference in the world.
