Phillip Simpkins, also known as "Phil", began acting in school plays from elementary to high school, taking on lead roles such as “Romeo” in Romeo & Juliet and “Othello” in Othello. When Phil became an undergraduate at the University of Missouri, his focus transitioned into broadcasting. He became a co-host for the radio show Damn Good Jamz, a show designed to highlight the genres of Hip-Hop and R&B in the city of Columbia, Missouri. The show was groundbreaking and has become a staple within KCOU’s network. Additionally, Phil’s knowledge of music and pop culture was also utilized by the university’s television network, MUTV. He was selected to serve as a Music Correspondent for the student-run entertainment news show, E23. Upon graduating from Mizzou, Phil has leaned heavily into expanding his creative abilities as an entertainer. In fact, since 2019, Phil has been featured in a variety of projects that range from web series to feature films. His acting credits include portraying the roles of “Jacob White” in the YouTube web series Journey, “Slim” in the short film Maverick and “Captain William Hopkins” in the feature film Journey To the End of the Night. He was even casted as “Father Augustus Tolton” for the They Might Be Saints program that aired on the Eternal World Television Network. In addition to his acting portfolio, Phil currently serves as a Moderator & Host for two different companies: Catharsis Productions and Visit.org. The mission of these respective organizations is to provide informative, engaging experiences through community involvement and live event presentations. Furthermore, Phil also had the pleasure of recording a few promotional segments for an upcoming streaming network, GTV. He even served as an emcee for their opening event.
