Rickaya Sykes

Rickaya Sykes is a Virginia-born actress and storyteller driven to bring authentic characters to life on stage and screen. Her love of performing began at age six when she wrote plays for her family and found early outlets in forensics competitions, community theatre and modeling. She earned her BFA in Theatre Performance from Virginia Commonwealth University, acting in productions and honing her voice while continuing to model to challenge limiting beauty standards. After college she moved to New York City for intensive training at the historic Billie Holiday Theatre and recently completed a two‑year conservatory program at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting. Rickaya believes her craft is ancestral and spiritual—an opportunity to share layered stories that matter. She draws on her background in theatre, commercials and martial arts to deliver emotive performances and enjoys collaborative creative processes. When she is not acting she empowers young women through representation and self‑love. Rickaya is pursuing roles on Broadway and television that spark conversations and reflect the richness of real life.
